    This policy guides Council’s approach to engaging with the community, and more specifically, Māori. It helps identify opportunities for Council to invest to ensure that the voice of Māori is heard and provide support to Māori to actively participate in Council decision-making processes.

    Our Community Development Strategy looks at how everyone can work together to make our communities a fantastic place to grow up, grow old, and everything in between.

  • Community Facilities Strategy

    The Community Facilities Strategy provides the strategic direction for Council over the next 30+ years. It provides a clear vision for the future of our community facilities and a roadmap on how we can get there.

  • Economic Development Strategy

    The Manawatū District Council Economic Development Strategy – Growing Manawatū, defines the goals and actions necessary to shape the social and economic potential of the community.

  • Walking and Cycling Strategy 2020

    The Walking and Cycling Strategy establishes a new set of visions and goals for walking and cycling within the Manawatū District over the next 10 years. The Strategy will assist Council in co-ordinating and prioritising the many requests for footpaths and cycleways received by the community, and enable a coordinated approach to delivering wider initiatives that will encourage people to travel by foot or by bike more often.

  • Annual Plan 2023/24

    The Annual Plan states what we intend to achieve over the next financial year, how much it will cost, and how it will be funded (including the setting of rates).

  • Road Sealing Policy

    This policy sets out the decision-making process for requests to seal sections of road in the District. The policy aims to create clarity around the decision-making process and thereby support the understanding of the community in respect of this process.
